BROOMHILL grows through many forms of participation. Some people participate through time spent in the gardens, others through seasonal food shares, practical skills, creativity, or by helping hold the foundations that allow this living system to continue. Every person arrives with different gifts, capacities, and seasons of life. Each person finds their own way of walking alongside BROOMHILL.
Garden Stewardship - Caring for the gardens together.
The gardens are held through the ongoing care and attention of
those stewarding BROOMHILL, with many hands contributing along
the way. Garden Stewardship takes place within the practical
rhythms of growing, preparing, maintaining, and caring for the
land. Through guided sessions and shared learning, people enter
the existing rhythms of the gardens - learning to observe what
is needed, respond to the seasons, and discover the many layers
involved in growing food within this place.
Stewardship begins with learning the rhythms of the gardens.
Over time, it becomes less about completing tasks and more about
noticing, participating, and caring for a place.
Participation takes place through seasonal volunteer days,
regular guided garden sessions, and ongoing involvement in the
rhythm and care of the gardens.

Harvest Circle - Seasonal nourishment from the gardens.
The Harvest Circle is a seasonal commitment to sharing in the garden harvest and supporting the continuity of the growing season. It is one way of participating in the rhythm of BROOMHILL through food. Learn much more through Food .
Skills, Gifts & Creations - Bringing what you carry into the wider unfolding.
BROOMHILL is shaped by many forms of knowledge, creativity, and practical skill. People contribute through building, teaching, designing, creating, problem-solving, and sharing knowledge, craft, and experience in ways that support the care and development of this place. If you carry a skill, knowledge, craft, or creative gift that has a meaningful place here, we welcome a conversation. When individual gifts meet a shared purpose, new things take form.
Holding the Foundations - Supporting what allows BROOMHILL to continue.
Some of what sustains BROOMHILL is visible in the gardens. Much
of it happens beneath the surface - infrastructure, resources,
planning, maintenance, and the steady costs of keeping a living
place going. Some people help hold these foundations
financially. This may be an occasional contribution, support for
a particular piece of work, or a more enduring commitment that
gives BROOMHILL greater stability to grow with care.
We are looking for a small number of people who recognise the
value of what is taking shape here and want to help sustain it
over time. BROOMHILL also sits within the wider ecosystem of
Future Whenua Charitable Trust (CC60024). Where charitable
giving is appropriate, contributions can be made through the
Trust and support the educational, ecological, and community
kaupapa connected with this work.
