A guided morning within the living systems of BROOMHILL.
These sessions offer time to slow down, look closely and explore how food growing, ecological restoration and human participation meet within one piece of land.
Rather than teaching a fixed method, we work with what the whenua is showing us and the questions that arise through direct encounter.
Suggested contribution: $40 per person
Location:
BROOMHILL Garden
Duration:
10am - 2pm
This Season:
October is a season of emergence.
Soils are warming, seedlings are moving from shelter into the garden, perennial plants are returning to growth and the relationships between water, soil, shelter, insects, plants and people become increasingly visible.
Spring gives us plenty to observe — including what has worked, what has struggled and what the land may be asking us to reconsider.
During the Session:
We move through the gardens and wider whenua together, stopping where there is something worth noticing.
There will be conversation, observation and some practical participation in the seasonal work of the garden. The morning is shaped partly by what is happening on the land and partly by the questions and interests of those who come.
Shared Learning:
We explore regenerative food growing as a living relationship rather than a collection of techniques.
The invitation is to notice patterns, connections and consequences — and to consider how our way of observing changes the way we participate.
No previous growing experience is needed.
What to bring:
ome prepared to spend the morning outdoors in changeable mountain weather. Bring sturdy footwear, warm layers, sun protection and water.
A notebook is welcome if you like to record what you notice.
