The Stewardship Roster is a small group of local people who return regularly to care for BROOMHILL through the changing seasons. Together we tend the gardens, pathways, tools and wider landscape — sharing the practical work of growing, maintaining and caring for this place. As part of this ongoing rhythm, participants receive a seasonal share of the garden harvest. This is a continuing commitment to walking with the garden through the seasons. This Season: As winter begins to loosen its hold, the garden slowly prepares for the return of spring. This is a time for tending soil, clearing pathways, caring for perennial plants and strengthening the foundations that support the growing season ahead. During the Session: - Mulching garden beds and pathways -Caring for young trees and shelterbelts - Preparing beds for spring growth - Clearing and organising materials - Light infrastructure repairs - Observing seasonal changes and ecosystem patterns - Sharing tea and conversation Shared Learning: Through seasonal stewardship we explore soil care, changing cycles, observation, preparation and the quiet work that supports a thriving garde What to bring: - Weather-appropriate clothing and layers for comfort throughout the morning - Sturdy footwear, as slopes and pathways can be muddy and uneven - Gardening gloves if you have them (we also have some available to borrow) - A water bottle and any personal refreshments you may need - Curiosity and a willingness to learn through shared practice
