Food resilience is not simply about growing vegetables.
It is about rebuilding relationships—between people and land, knowledge and practice, abundance and responsibility.
Join us for a community exploration of what it means to become active participants in the systems that nourish us. Together, we will walk the gardens, share observations, reflect on local food resilience, and explore practical ways communities can strengthen their relationship with food production.
This gathering invites curiosity rather than expertise. Whether you are an experienced gardener, a keen learner, or simply interested in the future of food, you are welcome.

BROOMHILL

This Season:
Winter invites reflection beneath the surface. While visible growth slows, roots continue their work unseen. This quieter season offers an opportunity to consider the foundations that support food resilience—healthy soil, shared knowledge, strong community relationships, and a willingness to participate in the care of living systems.
As we move through the shortest days of the year, we explore how communities can cultivate not only food, but also the capacity to nourish one another through changing times.
During the Session:
• Join a guided walk through the BROOMHILL gardens and food systems.
• Explore how soil, water, biodiversity, and seasonal rhythms contribute to resilience.
• Share experiences, questions, and observations during a community conversation.
• Participate in a simple seasonal stewardship activity such as mulching, planting, seed care, or compost building.
• Reflect on small actions that can strengthen food resilience at home and within the wider community.
Shared Learning:
• Understanding food systems as living relationships rather than supply chains.
• Exploring the foundations of local food resilience.
• Recognising the role communities play in supporting food sovereignty.
• Developing a stewardship mindset that values reciprocity, participation, and care.
• Discovering practical pathways for becoming more engaged in local food production and ecosystem wellbeing.
