Join us for a gentle morning of seasonal stewardship as we tend the living systems of BROOMHILL. Together we care for gardens, pathways, tools, and infrastructure while preparing the land for the returning energy of spring. Work is shared, adaptable, and suitable for different abilities and experience levels.
Location: BROOMHILL Duration: 10.30am - 1.30pm
What to bring: - Weather-appropriate clothing and layers for comfort throughout the morning - Sturdy footwear, as winter slopes and pathways can be muddy and slippery - Gardening gloves if you have them (we also have some available to borrow) - A water bottle and any personal refreshments you may need - Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and as many questions as you'd like to bring At BROOMHILL, conversation and shared learning are just as valuable as the practical tasks. Whether you're an experienced grower or simply curious about regenerative living, you're warmly welcome. Seasonal Context: As daylight shortens and growth slows, winter offers an opportunity to pause, observe, tidy, mulch, repair, and strengthen the foundations of the ecosystem. The work we do now supports resilience, fertility, and abundance in the seasons ahead. Ways to Participate: - Mulching garden beds and pathways - Cutting back spent growth - Clearing and organising materials - Caring for young trees and shelterbelts - Light infrastructure repairs - Observing ecosystem patterns and seasonal changes - Sharing tea and conversation Learning Focus: Understanding winter as a season of regeneration, soil-building, observation, and preparation.
