Step into the rhythms of the whenua and garden as the season shifts toward rest. This full-day, experiential workshop offers hands-on guidance in closing the harvest, preparing soil and beds for winter, and nurturing the land for renewal. Practical, grounded, and immersive, it is designed for anyone wishing to engage with seasonal cycles, regenerative land care, and garden systems.

What to bring: Gloves, sturdy shoes, sun protection/ Water bottle/ Notebook if you wish to journal reflections / Weather-appropriate clothing Seasonal Context: Late summer and early autumn are times of transition. Many plants are slowing growth while seeds and fruit reach maturity. This is the perfect period to cut back overgrowth, capture seeds, and prepare beds for winter cover crops. Plant cutbacks act as direct soil enhancers, returning biomass to the land. Participants will also explore natural mineral applications and homemade soil replenisher techniques to support soil regeneration. Ways to Participate: Explore seasonal plant cycles through hands-on engagement with cutbacks, seed saving, and biomass management. - Apply mulch, compost, and nutrients as part of experiential soil regeneration techniques, learning how plant matter, natural minerals, and homemade soil amendments enrich the land. - Prepare beds for winter using cover crops and protective strategies, observing the effects of seasonal interventions. - Reflect on successes and lessons from the season, noticing how your actions connect with the wider rhythms of the garden. - All participation is adaptable to your energy and comfort, supporting a balanced, immersive, and educational experience.
