Join us for a gentle, personal exploration of the whenua and the story behind BROOMHILL — how this land called us, how we’ve been listening, and how the garden systems, microclimates, and guild-life are slowly revealing themselves. As we walk, we’ll look at how different plants support one another, how water and wind shape the hillside, and what the land teaches about resilience and cooperation.
This is an invitation to discover the deeper vision of BROOMHILL’s educational pathway, ask questions, and sense into the living template we’re creating here. Along the way, you may also receive seeds — small carriers of potential — to nurture your own growth and the path ahead.
A soft, heart-led wander. Nothing to achieve. Just an opportunity to connect, learn, and be with the whenua at this turning point of the year.
Location: BROOMHILL Sanctuary
Duration: 1h starts at 2pm
Be invited to celebrate the Summer Solstice — to connect with the whenua, one another, and yourself; to explore the space, or simply slow down and welcome the magic of the year’s turning. With deep gratitude, we especially welcome those who may not have been here in person, yet have supported BROOMHILL’s germination from the beginning. This gathering is for you.
Arrive between 2–3pm and ease into the space. From 3–5pm, enjoy open exploration: wander the land, join a guided tour or pop-up offering, sit in stillness or meditation, visit the forest and sacred waters, and meet others in a gentle field of connection.
As the afternoon unfolds, we honour the seasonal shift and acknowledge our shared journey, giving thanks for the abundance carried by the whenua and community. Shared kai begins around 5–5:30pm, followed by the Evening Circle and tea ceremony at 6:30pm, then relaxed togetherness into the night with music, kōrero, soul-led expression, and — weather permitting — a soft fire circle.
A grounded, heartfelt Solstice celebration welcoming presence, gratitude, connection, and community.
Location: BROOMHILL Sanctuary
Duration: 2pm - 10pm or longer
What to bring: • A plate + wholesome offering for shared kai
• Warm layers for the evening
• A cup for tea ceremony
• Water bottle
• Something comfortable to sit on (optional)
• Your presence, openness, and stories
Seasonal Context: The Summer Solstice marks the height of light — a moment of illumination, clarity, and renewal. This year’s Solstice is beautifully paired with a New Moon in Sagittarius, bringing fresh vision, expansion, exploration, and intention-setting as the year comes to a close.
While the Solstice opens outward into light, the New Moon draws us inward to reflect and plant new seeds. Together, they create a powerful moment for gratitude, alignment, and stepping into the next chapter with clarity and openness.
Ways to Participate: • Explore the whenua or join a guided walk
• Sit in meditation, breathe, or connect with the waters and forest
• Engage in gentle kōrero, exchange goodness, or simply be
• Contribute to shared kai
• Join the Evening Circle + tea ceremony
• Offer music, expression, or presence during the freeflow evening
All forms of participation — quiet, active, reflective, expressive — are welcome.
Learning Focus: This is not a ticketed event — your presence is already a gift.
If you feel called to honour the day with a reciprocal contribution of $20, it will support organisation, food, infrastructure, and care for the whenua. Any excess not needed for the gathering will flow directly into the growth of our projects as we move toward deeper local food sovereignty.
The contribution link will be sent to you in the confirmation email, along with any additional event information.
